Those familiar with DEVILDRIVER always seem to have a Love or Hate opinion, not necessarily of the band, but of lead singer Dez Fafara. As the former frontman of the band COAL CHAMBER, Dez was defined by many by the particular style of the band’s music and off-stage controversy that seemed to surround him. Eventually forming a new band as DEVILDRIVER the initial challenge seemed to be setting the goal of shedding the negative stigma and create something new. 6 albums later it would seem as if those old notions have fallen away for most, but the Love / Hate relationship still stands which may likely be the key to the band’s continued success.
