Appropriately titled, Fear Factory's new album Archtype is in many ways what fans have come to expect. In typical Fear Factory fashion, Archtype comes straight out of the blocks full throttle, boasting super-tight guitar and drum work, combined with haunting keyboards, and Burton Bell's signature brutal / melodic vocal styles. Yet it is very obvious that Fear Factory is making a statement with this record like, "We're Baaaaack! and hungrier than ever!".

The renewed focus of the band stems from the departure of original guitarist Dino C. leaving the band more than 2 years ago, with the rest of the band picking up the pieces nearly a year and a half later. Original bassist Christian W. has stepped up to take on the song writing and guitar duties, surprisingly, with great execution and conviction!

Fear Factory doesn't break a lot of new ground with this record, something that their fans will certainly embrace.
