When I first heard Lamb of God I'll admit that I was very confused as to why this band had so much hype surrounding them. The previous releases from this band were in my opinion very poorly produced, and for my tastes just not worthy of repeated listens. My my how good recording budgets, good studios, and good engineers can make a band sound really REALLLY damn good, as is the case with L.O.G.'s latest album "Ashes of the Wake".

The opening track "Laid to Rest" has a very catchy chug-a-long riff that should easily get the pit swirling. It's obvious after listening to this record a few times that Lamb of God is a LIVE oriented band, meaning that they wrote these songs to be played on stage, not just on a record. After seeing them live it was even clearer that my theory holds true!

"Now You've Got Something To Die For" is a great song with all the elements to becoming a fan favorite! Memorable chorus, and chock full of Moshy rhythms! This record is easily worth shelling out a few bucks for, as I have found it to be one that I've listened to over and over again, becoming one of my own recent favorites, and one of the best of 2004
